Help In Sight To Those Who Are Allergic To Everything

If you feel like you are coughing all of the time, or you're congested, or have a stuffy nose or your chest feels like you're breathing under water, go see your health professional first. If they can't find anything in particular wrong with you, then it could be allergies. I've been there, am doing better, but it can sometimes be a long haul.

I have been allergic to a lot of things all of my life but I held the belief that it was to animal dander, grass, pollen -- mostly things you breathe in through your nose or throat. While I do have a little bit of that, I turned my focus towards chemical sensitivity and food allergies. Previously to the start of my allergen hunt, the clinic gave me asthma medication for some months. Make sure that you do not have that condition first, before you start hunting down your own allergies. It can be very serious.

What got me started was when someone mentioned the possibility of a wheat allergy. I withdrew myself from the obvious first -- whole wheat bread, pasta etc. It worked. Took a while for all of the build-up to go away -- but it is mostly gone. Take your magnifying glass with you while at the grocery store, as wheat is in a ton of food products, like soy sauce. If that withdrawal doesn't give you relief, or just a little relief, then try peanuts, shrimp, soy, milk etc. You certainly don't want to drop everything at once, or you will never be able to narrow it down.

While you are testing food allergies you can also wean yourself off products that you put onto your body, like new, unwashed clothes (use an organic or biodegradable laundry detergent every time you wash clothes or bed linens), body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, soap, and avoid sitting bare legged on fabric or even hard surfaces. A towel comes in handy here because it's Summer soon and shorts season. I have had a huge rash (with blisters) which occurred immediately when I sat on an unwashed robe, also a bench (inside) with a fabric cushion.

Be persistent and diligent in your efforts and you may be surprised at the medication free results. There are many substitutes for food and chemical laden products out there, so try a few at a time. They use of a vaporizer might be a good idea, for instance, as it is a natural way to breathe in some soothing oils and herbs, and substitutes for pasta and other things are in health food stores and healthy grocery stores. Make sure on food that it is gluten free on the package. This triggers the wheat allergy. Read labels, be careful, and stay healthy and happy.
