Everyone knows that when you live in a large metropolitan city that there are some days when the pollution is really bad. All of the emissions that come from cars and trucks can cause breathing problems for those who are exposed to it on a daily basis. People that already have breathing problems like allergies or asthma has an even worse time breathing. What if the air in your house was bad too? It might not be as bad as living in a smog filled city, but it can have its problems as well.

These days our water supply has also came under scrutiny. We are hearing reports all the time about what all has to be done to make our water supply clean enough for consumption, but the thing is are the treatments being used doing a good enough job? Some people may or may not have heard about the different drug residues that are still in the water when it is pumped into our houses. There have even been concerns about our old friend chlorine which is used to water all over the country.

Out of everywhere else there is to be, the majority of us spend a lot of our time at home. This means we are breathing there and drinking there. The air and the water are two very important elements in a house. There are things you can do as a homeowner to improve the quality of your air and water.

A lot of the bad air in the home comes in through the heating and cooling units we use today. The ducts that carry the warm or cool air can be filled with germs and bacteria that are disbursed back into the air. You might think that the filters you change out every so often will be enough to catch the dust, bacteria, and even mold spores that come through the ducts the truth is that most filters only trap a small percentage of these breathing hazards. You can buy better quality filters that do a better job of filtration or clean air machines for the home are becoming very popular.

As for our water, well most of us know about home filter systems for that too. You can buy a unit for the kitchen sink, or have a larger unit installed to filter all of the unwanted elements from your water .They can remove things like rust, chlorine, and so much more. You can spend a little money or a lot of money for water and air cleaners for the home. The choice is up to you, but if are worried about water and air quality, whatever you spend will make a difference.
